Pellets are getting easier to come by for grilling. It used to be tough to find them, and I had to mail order the dang things, the shipping was often more than the pellets. I have used Turman pellets to smoke with, they are Red Oak, hasnt killed me yet, but now I have actual smoking pellets we buy from one of our suppliers. Verdict is still out, but will try them some more and see how the various types work.

    Hello
I am definitely going with the latest generation new technology Direct Drive WiFi Stainless wood pellet grill. It looks like that is where they are all headed.
Better temp control and more efficient wood pellet burning which will almost standardize the motors and parts. Looks like 2 of the big manufacturers have them this year now and that is the wave of the future!

    Few more pics
All it takes is a 10 mm and 12 mm socket set so get out the metrics and a fillips head screw driver.
The optional cover fits nice too.
Just like my new shop radio, we cannot use it until the firmware is up to date! See next to last pic!!
Manufacturers date is 4/19 so this is hot off the press! V1.2 is the latest firmware version according to tech support so all set for the holiday!

That window in the grill top is very cool, and probably handy too.

Happy grilling, looks nice, I'm not much for bells and whistles i.e. Wifi and firmware on a smoker? Not sure about a window either, hard to imagine it will stay see-througable.

Thanks for your comments. Interesting fact on the WiFi phone app. Due to FCC regulations you cannot start a heating device remotely. Only locally, that is why blue tooth is used for many such apps. This grill has a local mode to start the grill and a server mode to monitor the temps if you go out on an errand when smoking an 8 hour brisket! Very Cool!

Looks good Don! I like the connected aspect of that smoker. I geek out on stuff like that.

I'd love one of these grills. Issue now is space. However, we'll use charcoal when we want a little smoke flavor. I have two Weber Smokey Joe Gold grills. I just modified them both and added bottom vents. Fun project! And they burn hotter now.
