Noticed a stack of timbers last friday next to a foundation. Stopped by on the way back and watched and helped a little assemble what they could on the deck for a hour or so. The next day it was getting put up and they invited me back, having always loved the beauty and marvel at the joinery, I was there at 8AM. Meant to stop by today, there was a lean to on one side that I didn't stay to see get erected. 20190622_123415.jpg

Very cool. Massive timbers. We have one here but I honestly haven't had a good look at it.

Is this going to be a home, business or some sort of venue?

It's going to be a shop, I met the owner there that Friday and he wants to play around with wooden boats. This has been his dream also and he's made it happen.
I helped them assemble the 2 gable ends on Friday, then watched them put it together up to the top sills and the purlins underway on the roof. There one ONE joint that needed a little adjustment that I witnessed out of hundreds? They were all cut in the guy's shop about 12 miles away.

I wonder if those guys knew Alfred Burgoen's company Dovetails Plus. I did a 12 hour crane lift for him in 1981 on a 5 bent structure that looked a lot like that one. He'd spent all winter in his shop making the pieces. It's amazing to see those go up.
