Just after I bought some diesel this morning it started raining but by the time I made it home it was coming down hard. It hasn't been raining since about 2:30 today, did you get a break in the rain yet?

We're sort of lucky with our rainfall totals compared with some members, we have a chit load of trees sucking up what falls.

I'm seeing people who order there wood in the spring for this year don't have it yet.

A normal spring (90 days back from today) is 10-15" of rain. This year we are at 20-25.

A lot of fields that should have been corn are going to be lucky to be beans...a lot of other fields still haven't been and won't be touched. Never seen it this bad before.

It's not unusual to see tasseled corn right now. I haven't seen any over 12" yet.

Yeah I've seen beans that went in on the 4th of July make a decent crop...and the tallest corn around here is maybe 4-5".
But yes, there are plenty of fields that will not be planted though...

Only 21 days and we have gotten over 4 inches of rain so far with 9 days to go. Adravage for the whole 30 days is just 2 inches.

It is difficult in this area to get soy beans ripe if planted on July 4 but have seen it once. White beans have enough time to mature when planted early July but it really depends upon the fall as white beans can't stand much rain when ripening. They will turn black rather than white and are no good for sale. But not many around our area plant white beans any more. A few kidneys, which grow about whites but mostly soy beans around this area. Sugar beets really took a hit this year. They have to be planted really early but flooded fields will wipe them out.

Hooray. We are not supposed to get rain again until late tomorrow night... We've had plenty.

6-8", and I'm betting on the 8 side. Just an hour south and they've been getting hammered. 10-15".

That's always a good thing. I beat our trails up last year with all the pine we moved with the tractor so after we get hard rains, I stay off the trails until they dry out. I'll need to get the rest of the ash up before I get into any jobs with the tractor, We do have some stumps that need yanking.

If it doesn't rain before midnight, we'll have had 3 days in a row with out rain. Still can't plant the last 100ac of soybeans yet. Fields are too wet.

Hay is starting to go to seed. It will probably be another 3-4 days before fields are dry enough to drop hay. We'll likely mow into wind-rows, get some sun and wind on the ground, then teet it out so the grass can dry.
