Nah, by the time the loaner leaves I'll have everything in the yard split! I'll start watching the sales though. Husband is on board even though it will take up garage space.
That is a lot of noodles. What was your chain sharpening schedule when noodling that volume? i.e. after every tank or two of gas?
I started with the 460 using 20" bar and ran til out of gas. Switched to 290 with 16" bar and did the same. Gassed up 460 and put fresh chain and same. Next did the same on the 290. Noodled one log and cut through the little "compost bin" in the crotch. Not a good idea...dull! I know better. Sharpened em all up last night and did one tank full of each today. I bring the toolbox with file with me and will sharpen on the bar if needed. I was running 460 at mini honey hole late this afternoon and had put second chain on. More sharpening tonight...groan! At least im not hitting any metal! You shouldve seen the noodle pile today when i left!
Worked a couple hours noodling yesterday. Stacked two face cord in his shed and split today for a few hours after the rain stopped. 15 wheelbarrow fulls of noodles so far including the mound still there. Have a few more left to noodle. Lots of wood to process & store in a small area. First pic when i got there today. Second pic when i left.

Finished processing the wood today. Splitting, noodling and stacking in his shed. He has to make a bin for the nuggets/shorts in his barn yet. Maybe a face cord he is giving to a friend he owes a favor. 2+ cords for the tree. He cant believed how hard i work making firewood and how i enjoy it. Couple hours work in the sun this morning. barkless splits under tree will go to his friends. My friend Mike stacking the last noodled log. These wouldnt fit in the shed. These were sized larger than i normally would split. Admittedly some of the logs couldve been hand split but i was on a roll noodling. Close to 20 big wheelbarrows of noodles. We may move the stack in the Fall. Bottom two pics are before any wood was split/noodled.

Cleared an area under the stairs in his barn for the nuggets and bark. Used a section of the metal roofing pallet propped up. Job done!
Nice work. Isn’t it good? Norwegian wood. I can’t wait to burn some of my N. Maple stash this winter. I haven’t knowingly burnt it before although I’m sure there was some in my previously purchased mixed hardwood cords. I’ll have to adjust my perception of what a cord looks like in the round as my estimation skills are still developing, I would have guessed closer to 4 cord, but maybe there is a cord of noodles too?
seems like i got that out of this tree!!! Lean a sheet of plywood up. Its 4'x8' which is a face cord (1/3 of a cord) of splits/rounds etc. So guess based on those dimensions. Im not too good when its in mound form though.
