I used one lb of wild flower seed and 50 total lawn scraper blend for the grass content. Its mostly rye so should take much to get it going. Party on the range anytime!
Mostly rye grass will over seed again this fall. This blend was cheaper than oats, But that would have been a very good choice with a bonus food plot.
Whenever we'd seed out retention ponds we'd mix about 25% wheat into the grass seed, seed it, then put down mat. The wheat would be poking through the mat in a couple days.
I will check this rye tonight and if its not started I grab some wheat. The Soon to be wife thinks its all in wild flower.
Soon to be wife????!!!! Congrats!!!!! BTW, perennial wildflowers like a winter before they go all crazy blooming so do not be surprised if you get a lot of growth and not a lot of bloom this year. Annual wildflowers mixed in will make that problem go away. I used to plant them for turkeys and bees. Your bees should be REALLY happy soon!
Landscapers mix is a good choice for fast germination. It usually has a good bit of annual ryegrass in it that should pop up in 3-4 days, max.
