Never saw the sun up this way today. Wasn't really cold, high 40's but felt raw all day.

Haven't posted in a bit so I figured I should. The E2 has performed very well through the winter and has kept us warm and happy. Many different pellets, Chows, Green supremes, TSC Currans, and AWF pines. Only issue we had was the AWF did a little bridge thing one day. Wifey fixed that pretty quick.
Worked on the yard a bit last Sunday and found the mower had lost a rear link on the deck and it dug up the yard a bit before I noticed. Looked all over the yard but didn't find it so ordered new one. Lots of yard work to do, maybe next weekend we can get back to it since rain is eminent today.
70 deg. yesterday. Had to work until 4pm. then came home checked a few things on the Road king and wifey and I took the first ride of the season. Ended with my favorite burger and seeing very good friends at the restaurant. Rode 40 miles, enough to be pretty sure all is OK. Bike ran great.
With bad weather moving in and wifey having to work this morning, today will be indoor work, TV and relaxing a bit. Hopefully Grandson Blake will grace us with his
presence later. The kid is a lot of fun.

Great weather yesterday....RAIN COMING BY TONIGHT..

Got more work done on Munchy.
The bearings showed up Friday and I got them at the Post office yesterday...

    Some piccy's
Anvil in the mill getting squared up...the saw cuts are just not good enough to allow the Anvil to slide in the little tracks... got the impact and base faces all square with the table (Shims added to get it where it needed to be) and then ran the cutter across one edge and then flipped it over and cleaned the other edge. The saw cats were sketchy at best...

A shot of the 1/2" key stock welded to the base frame.

A shot of the entire anvil assembly and it's adjustment screw.

I discovered too late yesterday that I did not have enough material for both braces on the anvil adjustment bracket...so one will have to wait until Monday (Unless I find a piece)

A shot of the entire unit "Mocked up".... Still need the base place for the motor and the sheet metal for the hopper assembly..

Overall the real time is very close to the "Print"....some slight changes were made to allow for material availability (As in lack of) and my own "Whims" :picard:

I was able to get hold of the little crank in the lathe and bore it's center hole out... not sure where the crank came from, or what it was used for originally, but the center hole was chewed up pretty bad.
Got it to a standard size now and will cut the 3/4" screw thread to proper length and then turn the diameter on the end to allow the crank to slip on and then drill it for a roll pin to secure it..

Did some preliminary "Imagineering" on the hopper assembly and the plan is coming into focus pretty well.

We had some "Ace hardware rewards cards" on the counter that were going to expire real soon, so we got the electrical parts while we were in town... Cord, switch and box and other stuff...

Overall, still think we can be operational in a week or so..
Going to do a good test run and if no mods are needed then strip the machine down and paint it.
I do not want to get it all painted and then find out that I need to weld on it or ???? and mess up the paint.

Today's work will include getting the screw thread cut to length and the crank fitted and attached.

See where we go from there...

    That is looking great, Snowy.

We had high 60’s yesterday and we adopted a cat. Wife is still having a very difficult time after losing our other cat earlier this month. New cat is a real lover. Hopefully this helps.

    Thanks Earl..
Losing a little Fur Child is tough... they are so much a part of the family.
We adopted a Sphynx Female kitty back in the fall of 2014.
She is so much a very active part of the family.

I hope your missus can move on and that the new kitty can help fill the giant loss..
We have had cats in the past...one Russian blue that came to our door and scratched until we opened the door, ran in, meowed and never left...

She was with us 23 years..
Good kitty, but more aloof than our Sphynx.
The Sphynx is so into her HOOOOOOMANS activities.

Fired up the leaf blower yesterday when I got home from work as if you remember I was not doing any leaves in the fall for health reasons so the leaves sat all winter. The wind was blowing strong and probably the first time ever in the right direction for the front yard as I chose to blow them into the woods with the help of the wind. Got half the front yard done and felt good.

This morning so far I pulled the door off the P68 and installed a new gasket as its warm out and I could actually wait long enough for the gasket adhesive to dry. Used a 2" x 1/4" wire wheel on a cordless drill to remove the old gasket adhesive and it worked amazingly well and I was done cleaning in less than 15 minutes and it was spotless, perfect ! While the gasket was drying I did a major OCD cleaning on the P68 and now have the door back on curing the adhesive with a slow burn and yep have the doors in the house open as its wicked warm.
Was considering doing some more leaves but the new and smarter me says don't over do it Idiot so I'll give the P43 an OCD cleaning, much better idea as it has been 2 weeks since I have done so and the backpack blower did not feel to good on the shoulders(in fact I popped a pain pill and got some great rest) yeah i know sounds wimpy but trying to be smarter :)

Hope all are well and enjoying this amazing weather at least in the NE got some rain coming but heh will take that over the white chit . Gonna take next weekend off hopefully unless some fricking emergency comes up.

    Be well all.

Same here dropped 10* in just over an hour and raining so time to re-fire the stove as it will get damp and chilly rather quickly. The new gasket is certainly making a big difference

We had 68 degrees here yesterday and 65 today. Walked the dogs in shorts and a T-shirt. Then it rained and the temp dropped to 55. It’s about 38 now and supposed to be heading down to a low of 31. Looks like we’re slated to get back up into the 60s again next weekend.

The rain is close now...but today was a good day with lots of progress on the Munch machine.

The Anvil assembly is complete now.
Mounted the electrical box and...just because it was in the way on the bench, and I wanted to get rid of the extra bags from the hardware store..

Cut the rotor shaft to length and it's sitting in the chuck of the lathe ready to get the bearing journals machined... once the journals are to size it will head to the mill and get the key way cut for the large pulley.

I still needed a piece of 1/4 x 1-1/2 flat bar for the remaining anvil control brace ...
Decided to take a piece of 1/4 x 4 x 4 angle scrap and cut off one side....saved a trip to the steel yard and $$$ too..
