Whiskey. And it only has to age around 8 weeks!

Is that your own creation that is distilling at home?

No I'm just doing the aging part of the process. First use of the barrell should only age for 8 weeks due to the tiny size. After that it can stay in indefinitely.

    What amount is it?

How much do you anticipate the "angels share" will be?

Post a link if you have one, please.

Very nice. As surprising as it sounds being from TN, I don't know anything about whiskey. But I appreciate wooden barrels and anything else that looks like it should be on pirate ship.

    Fantastic!

One of my retirement goals is to set up a still and make whisky. I'll call it bourbon, even though I'm pretty far from Kentucky. :)

If you don’t mind me saying so, you have a lovely three saw plan.

Hahaha, Thanks. The 562 was a too good to be true purchase and I’m still on the fence about selling it and using money to get a 90+cc saw for milling. Any scrounges or clearing jobs I’ve come across have been no problem with a 346 and 372. And no, I don’t mind you talking about my saws, as long as you buy us dinner!

And as not to hijack let’s get back to the whiskey. I sampled some Buffalo trace and Basil Hayden tonight. Both were very nice with two rocks and a splash of water.

It's about a half gallon. I won't be sharing any with the angels...it's all mine.
My son gave the setup to me for Christmas he picked it up here https://www.djinnspirits.com/giftshop

Aww be kind! When you broach that pony, at least set out an extra glass and let the angel pour his own!

Angels share is the amount of natural occurring absorption/evaporation.

Know about the angels portion. Just that I was reminded of a story about 3 Preachers talking about how they divided up the church donation money between their own use and that portion for the Lords work. One says " I draw a line on the ground and toss all the money in the air. What falls to the right of the line is for the Lord and what falls to the left, I keep". The second Preacher said " I draw a circle on the ground and throw all the money in the air and what falls inside is the Lord's and what falls outside is mine". The third preacher said " I throw all the money in the air and I figure what the Lord wants, He can take"!

    Update:
Aging is complete. Now for a tasting or three.
Unaged on the right. Oak aged on the left.
Lost about 500 ml to the atmosphere (or someone has been jumping the gun)

Nice! I just got back from a bourbon tour in Kentucky. Makers was heaven. I know all about Angels share. I have a bottle of orphan 25 year which is more than half evaporated. Pics from tour.
