Hello I am new here, and love the site! I have come across an abundance of this type of firewood already cut and stacked waiting for a truck bed but I am unsure what kind it is. I live in NJ if that helps any. Thanks alot!

Your welcome. It’s going to stink when you split it and especially if the bark starts to rot, but don’t be discouraged, but the wood it’s self will never rot and it burns very hot for a long time, it’s basically like burning coal. I would not attempt to burn it until it’s been split and stacked for a couple of years.

One word of advice Steve, Try and keep Black Locust scores as quiet as possible. It's a guarded secret that BL is plentiful here in New Jersey and the last thing we want is all the wood hoarders on this site moving to NJ. We are crowded enough Lol.

take all that black locust you can get! But, as stated, let it season a couple years if possible.
