    1549489072243634950602.jpg Newbie here, anyone know what kind of wood this is? A large limb fell down in a neighbors yard so i offered to cut it up for firewood. Just deciding if i should stack it for next winters or use it for bon 1549489156908713231841.jpg fire wood this year. Thanks for your help![​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Guess without a bark pic, I’ll have to be the first to disagree with the BL guess.
    Judging by the open pith and the wider than normal [BL] growth rings, ima say it’s one of the elm variety.
    But that’s based on what I’ve seen here.

    I'm going with elm, but its a tough one with that color of B L. End Grain looks like elm growth rings, and bark though covered with moss leans toward Elm. I'm going to cop out though and claim that's a variety of elm that doesn't grow here on the east coast so not sure:smoke::whistle:
