Thought you cord wood guys might enjoy this. They're in full swing processing at the campground we have a permanent site at.
I've got a pile like that, been adding to it all winter. It's piled up against next years stacks which are waiting for me to build a wood port, which I couldn't do until I burnt this years wood to make space...one thing at a time. I just couldn't let the rounds sit unsplit and then I didn't want to leave them in a pile on the ground so I threw down some pallets and just kept piling on. Here are some pics of the hounds squirrel hunting in the pile the other day, you can just make out Oliver's head on the backside of the pile in the first pic.
About 25 miles west of Harrisburg, Pa. That ridge way off in the distance is the eastern-most ridge 0f the Appalachians. South and east of that is rolling hills. North and west is mostly mountain terrain with about a 2 mile wide strip of farmland in the valleys between ridges. Over the second ridge (which can't be seen in the pic) we have a camp where we go to get away. Here is a picture I took a couple years ago of sunset over that first ridge. And here is one of our camp while it was still under construction.
That camp firewood should be seasoned and ready to sell by Memorial Day.... That way there will be a nice haze lingering over the campground -- adds to the ambience.
