    Love how the splitter is rite in the trailer need both a trailer and a splitter has anyone used a splitter like this.

    I don't mind hard work helps me sleep better at night. Like take couple big rounds of red elm with me to try it out.

    Trailer is possibly worth that. Then do what you want with the splitter. Would be a good start to a winch pole.

    For that much money you can get an electric splitter and set it up on the tail gate of your truck and split away.

    Based on FHC talk in the past, about at least the type of splitter, it will probably do well with straight grained wood...
    Taking some elm along should be a good test.:yes:

    I think that splitting on the trailer might be a bit tough. There’s going to be a pretty fair amount of give and shock absorption by the tires and the suspension, which means that not all of the force is really going to make its way into the round as it should. I think that style splitter is very cool and could work really well. How well it will work on the trailer would be my concern.

    You would not. I do not split in the woods myself. So I guess that would not work for you if that is your preference.

    Save a some more cash and go hydraulic if you need a splitter. Looks like quite the rig.

    Wouldn't want one of those splitters myself.


    But, I would like to give it a go if my neighbor had one. I've seen them posted form Europe but like others have mentioned already, it is usually on straight grained wood.

    Any-hoo, if you do pick it up, we sure would like pics/vids of usage! :yes:

    I've seen those on youtube videos as well and they seem to work well enough, but set up in the trailer like that seems a bit awkward.

    Save up another few hundred bucks for a new hydraulic splitter or get a used cheap one. I can see that thing being a Pain in the A$$ with knotty wood. Save yourself the aggravation and frustration and go with hydrolic. I have seen some of the electric ones on you tube and they seem slower, i never used one tho so i could b wrong. My Ariens 27 ton is a beast and i split alot of wood. Good luck bud
