Most people down here only burn oak. We have lot's of pine but it messes your chimney up an there aren't very many chimney sweeps down this way. I'll start my fire with a couple slivers of lighter than it's strictly oak from there. Now your fire pit and campfire people love the pop/crackle/pop of a pine fire.
Guess I didn't know there was that much Oak there. Good stuff. The myth about pine causing chimney trouble has largely been dismissed as just that. A myth. Like any firewood it just needs to be properly seasoned. Running a load of it right now!
Great. We live probably 20 miles from Harrison, on the other side of the county in Deepstep. I actually went to the old school in Harrison when in the 2nd grade. Give us a holler next time you up this way. Like to meet ya.
