I've wanted to get a full beam just because it seems like it would be stronger and last longer and the 30 ton is more than my 22 ton.

Cast iron sleeve, OHV. Should be a good engine.

I'll have to get a few gallons of hydraulic fluid for it but don't even plan on putting gas in it until it warms up in the spring.
I get a daily flyer from TSC and this was regular $2,200 CDN but it was half off for one day only for people like me who signed up for the flyer, so $1,100 CDN. That's less than what I paid for the 22 ton two years ago and it was on sale at the time too.

Time to sell the old one.

Yeah, I couldn't pass it up for that price. It seems to be better made than my 22 ton. Thicker steel, better welds, bigger foot.

My thoughts exactly! Everything looks the same except the motor. My understanding is that Frictionless World, the parent company of Dirty Hand Tools, manufactures splitters for sale all over the world, USA and Canada included, that are mated with many different motors and branded with many company names. Engine looks good, good price, should give you good service Chris F ! Please keep us posted!

I have the 25 ton version of that same splitter and it’s been great, so far.

Now that you mention Frictionless World, those words are in very small print on the serial number label! If this is anything like I've read about DHT splitters, then I made out like a bandit.

Good to hear. Does it have the B&S engine?

Yes, it does. But, I can’t remember the size off hand. I’ve used it to split about 4 Rick so far. Works great.

There definitely isn’t a better deal than that in Canada. Very nice splitter and DHT gets great reviews. TSC is a great store. We used to go there a lot when we lived in Ontario.

    Enjoy your good fortune!

I went by a TSC here locally a few weeks ago and i managed to come across a county line 30 ton.
I think it was a county line..

    Thing was pure beef!

Everything was larger on it compared to other 30 ton splitters.
The beam, wedge, engine, table, even the tires were taller and wider.

Nevermind, it looks like it was a 40 ton model!

Thing is huge next to a 30 ton!

Chris, i wonder why your 30 ton black diamond doesnt have the upwards tappered wedge..

I just sold a newer 30 ton like yours but it had a wedge on it that tapered up and down, making the splitting wedge taller.

Not sure what the total difference is between what you have and what is pictured here, obviously the ram is a different color.
You can clearly see the wedge taper though that i mentioned above.

I've never seen a wedge like that before, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled when I'm looking online at other splitters.

I had one and it was tapered.

Ive owned 2 of the 30 ton models. Super solid machines, mine were atleast.
The older model i had, had the grey colored ram with a regular looking wedge.
Newer machine had the tapered wedge with a 11.5 briggs.
