While running errands this weekend I found some Red Oak down a small ravine. I had today off from work so I went back with the saw and splitting axe and got a small load. I don’t think it’s been down long because I got some ash in the same area 2 years ago. I think the town cut it and left it there. The splits look nice, sap wood is not punky yet. I will go back more as time allows and get it all. It is tough. I have to split there and hike it up hill.

I am thinking of clearing a path and dragging it out with a come along and my truck.

That's the kind of scores I get that bring me joy. A little at a time and they add up. Your score gets extra points for the steep obstacle course hill with snags and trip hazards and the quality of the wood.... Solid beautiful oak!!!
