ppl suck, I liked your post though because it's teaching him business at an early age. The good and the bad..
Put up a sign saying "we saw you steal the wood, you know who you are, you should be ashamed." Maybe they pass frequently......let it eat at their conscience...day after day. Should help fend off future attacks.
Well it's been my experience that the old saying, "what goes around comes around" was coined for a reason. God designed life that way and there's no escaping it. Your boy will be miles ahead of most of his peers with the life lessons you're teaching him now. One of those lessons is human nature and sometimes humans can be down right nasty. As a father it's such a double edge sword trying to maintain my children's innocence. I want them to have that for as long as possible because it's the only time in their lives they'll be able to be that way. On the other hand it's critically important to teach your kids the ways of the world. Anyways I'm those "Sons a B*tches!" will get theirs in the end.
I am in NJ and I can't say as I am shocked!!! "But" I feel for your boy. I'll explain; There is a disabled Veteran, Vietnam vet, (one leg missing) who sells firewood to the camp grounds down here. Well long story short, they actually drove off with his trailer full of wood! He had a "honor" system with $10.00 a trunk load or $5.00 a stack. Some B@stard stole his trailer!!! It was found 40 miles away. Anyway, just explain, as I'm sure you did that there are some good folks and some $#!T heads!!! Good life lesson, sadly on a child's behalf
This type of garbage has been going on for years. Thankfully we have the technology, trail cameras or even hardwired security cameras, to expose these POS people. I'm agreeing with everyone who suggested this to you.
This makes me think of a local bait shop, he has his bait fish in tanks you can scoop what you want and tell him what you have when you check out. Never once has he looked in my bucket. There is a sign on his bait room door “if you think you have one dozen I think you have two” Give em an inch..
Well maybe the person just made an honest mistake and took what they thought they should. How far off was it? couple splits, a whole other stack? Is your sign clear as to amount? I know I live life with rose colored glasses on. I still have a hard time believing people do bad things intentionally.
It's one thing to steal from a grown man, but yet alone a child trying to do right and earn a few dollars. They need to have their a$$ stomped!!!
That’s a good boy you have there jrider, and he obviously takes after his dad. It’s a hard lesson but sadly one that needs to be learned, especially in today’s world. I’m in favor of the trail cam idea and social media would be a great place to show any evidence. What goes around comes around...
You can see the price clearly marked in the last picture of my original post and I wasn't even trying to take a picture of that. There's another sign right next to it that says tall stacks are $10. The amount missing isn't the point. I'm convinced this was done intentionally.
Everyone who's saying we should invest in cameras - it's very easy for someone to make a jesture/movement like they are putting money in the lock box and not actually do it making it virtually impossible to prove in court. I like the idea of putting up a "smile you're on camera" sign just to get them thinking though.
I guess you never had a gun pointed in your face and told these were the last few seconds your going to live huh.... Or seen a body "intentionally" chopped to pieces over drugs.... Yes, I've met those "BAD" people...
