Didn't take anywood. But he heats with wood too. We traded labor, helped me roof my house so I didn't do it all by myself. 32" bar on the Stihl. Tree was 48" at the stump.
Nice felling job there, sir! Neighbors and friends helping each other out is Doing It Right. Your buddy will stay warm on plenty of cool fall and spring evenings with that huge pile of gopher wood.
I didn't show the barn that was 6' behind the tree, with the weight over it lol. I actually a the backhoe tied in high with cable and about 20 wedges to overcome the weight
Nice, those are the exciting high adrenaline drops that make you feel so good when they go right! Oh yeah, & really pucker if they don't. Always like to swap services with people when I can. Good on you for being a good friend & neighbor. Like begets like.
I burn some cottonwood every year during the middle of winter. When it gets good a dry there is no smell. I like to mix it with other wood for the coals. Not a lot of hard woods around here so you learn to take what you can get. Good job on the felling. Next is the real fun. Getting it split.
