I have a feeling that "for sale" and "selling" are two very different things for this dude...

Someday when I sell off my collection I'm sure someone will say "This guy is out of his mind" too.

This isn't the first time he has listed the un-fired Papa Bear. The funny thing is the manual shown on top of it is the first manual printed from the Moore's in Factoryville PA that covered all the stove models that were not UL Listed at the time. It is not a Listed manual. The stove being sold is a Series VI that should include the Listed manual for VI after 1980. With the proper manual I'd go $1,000 or $1,500 shipped.

WHAT ?? You will be down to THREE? I was thinking I was semi-normal with others having growing collections.
I just picked up a single door Honey Bear from upstate NY last weekend. Newest addition in a long time.

After that XL was relisted I put my XL on Ebay too. Maybe if someone doesn't want to pay 5K they'd settle for 3K :)

    That's the one.
The guy has been in contact with me for quite some time after asking questions about it on the other site. He had a few offers and came down to 500, then offered it to me for 400 to compensate for fuel. It turned out to be a nickle door that I've never seen, and polished up like new. (at least I believe it is nickel. Just tried to take pictures and with flash it is like a mirror and doesn't show any gold tones, almost like the white brass feet in different light are mistaken for chrome or nickel) So it was worth the trip. My double door Honey is closer to new, I paid $200 for that one near Buffalo. The single doors don't show up too often.
I never figured out who made them in that single door configuration, and this tag only says "Fisher Century" which was after Fisher International when they started making Century gun safes along with stoves at a few fabricators. I only have manuals and prints for the double doors, so I don't even know what foundry cast the single doors. It was one of my questions for Bob I never got to ask before he died.

Coaly, Glad you got it. I didn't know how special it was. I really liked the glass door since I like to see the fire. He was at $550 and would only go to $500. I would have pulled the trigger for $400. I know you will appreciate it. Congratulations.
