    Unless the seller or buyer invites me over for a beer, not gonna find out.

    But I'd imagine that keeping it that pretty is like a young gal in the B'room preparing for a date.

    “Amazing Fisher XL wood stove. This is the biggest and baddest model that Fisher ever produced. Extremely rare and hard to find. Measures 34" Wide x 34" Tall. Big Beautiful arched doors with chrome design. This stove will look amazing in any home or cabin

    Seller must be speaking of a 2500-5000 sq ft “hunting cabin” aka lodge....

    ...It would be interesting to know what the seller has in it financially...not that he would ever tell me though.

    Fisher wood burning stove

    I think this guy is maybe a bit more ridiculous...$1200 for a Grandma Bear...Nope. Did they really go for $3200 back in the day?

    That guy needs his head checked!!! He said he has over $3200 in it? That stove "NEW" in 1976 went for $450.00, I know this because my Father bought a 1978 new for $429.00. I still have the book.

    That stove will heat 3000 sqft With ease!!! That's what it was designed for, Big open rooms. If you put that thing in a room say 20' x 30' , you couldn't stand being in the room it would be so dam hot. My Grandma gets my lower level of the house about 90º in an hour "if" I chose, :dennis: and that is a 16' x 20' area.

    I don't know what people are thinking a Fisher is worth. I love Fisher's...but many that I see listed on CL are ridiculous in price, I just can't believe anyone is paying that kind of money for mama or baby or what ever.

    I still want me a Bicentennial!

    They don't sell for those crazy prices...they sit or the seller phishes for the best offer.
    The same items sit for months...the good priced stuff sells within hours or days...

    Imo that gold door is hideous.

    I think he needs to knock $4,000 off since it is shown missing the adjustable ball feet, ash fender and spark screen.
    I paid $1,025 including shipping from CA to PA for a new, unfired, complete one.

    Here is the brochure, I'd have to dig for the price list. I'm sure I have it.

    The brass door looks hideous because it has either had paint removed or been re-plated and not painted correctly. The entire door is painted after plating and wipe off the raised portions with mineral spirits before firing. Original shown here;
    XL Mt Crawford VA ebay UT 9428 11-3-12.jpg Air dampers get painted and wiped as well.

    This is what they look like before painting;

    XL Replated 10 9-17-2011.jpg It is unfinished.

    All plated doors look bad before paint;
