I'm glad I can share this stuff with you guys. I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunities in life that I do. I worked long and hard to get to this point, and I'm glad I did. My dad is a private pilot, and I grew up hearing stories from his flying buddies about their times in the arctic. I've always wanted to see it, and now...man....they're paying to go. Life is pretty darned good. I just hope there are more opportunities to get that far up again....when it's not -60 degrees and blowing 60km/h of course. LOL. I don't think they're going to be drilling at that camp all winter, but it hasn't been ruled out 100% yet either.

Those orange emergency shelters make you think... Thanks for the really interesting glimpse of someplace I'd never otherwise see.

The drills I deal with are just boring holes for blasting. The purpose of the camp is gold exploration. They have 300km of cores already drilled to prove out the deposits.

Yes, you are blessed. I'm sure it is not all peaches and cream, especially when the real cold and wind moves in, but overall, you definitely are blessed to be able to do this.

Thank you so much for sharing. Such a beautiful yet brutal place. Been on a fly in caribou hunt in Quebec and it looks similar but was not that far north. We did eat a meal of Ptarmigan, they were very good, similar to Ruffed Grouse.

Thanks for the tour. I drilled seismic up there in the 1970s. You crossed my trail and bought back some memories.

Curiosity is getting the best of me. What was the problem and fix for the tracked drill?

It was coming up with fault messages that three modules could not be found on the canbus system. The fault was in a chunk of canbus cable near the base of the boom. The fix was to replace the cable. Computers....saving us time and money every single day. Pfhttttt.
