Idk, lived with deer for 40 years (white tail and mule), never looked like that.... We did however have bears once in a while, but that was very stinky and had crazy rocks and twigs and seeds in it every time. My neighbor here (way north, no bears now) had a coon killing her chickens, bold enough to go in the pen, kill and eat, and take a poop on the laying shelf , it was similar but smaller and no rocks/seeds/twigs. Out here that would not be deer.
Could the reason that you never saw deer poo like that is because of the types of feed in your area compared to where I live? I know that here in PA that deer poo has looked like that. If I am looking at the picture right it almost looks like a bunch of smashed deer pellets formed together. It almost looks too small to be bear poo judging by the leaves, the bear poo that I is always quite a large pile and bigger around here. I guess the actual poo debate will go on!
That looks like typical summer ungulate scat. Have seen that from deer (all the species), elk, caribou and moose, and from both sex. That looks nothing like bear scat. Continue building that blind and tag out.
