I need to seal my driveway for the first time since it was put down. I have no idea what to use so I appreciate any input. Drive is about 3k sq ft.

mywaynow What Canadian border VT said. Especially the cleaning part. I would pressure wash with a whirly first. Everywhere there is a tiny pocket of dirt in a hollow or pocket the asphalt emulsion will not stick. It will bridge the pocket and initially look good but eventually that little bubble will break open and your surface will develop little holes. You will probably be using an asphalt emulsion product that is a water cleanup (kinda) product but has bituminous components also. Get a good grade product with a high solid content. Any good construction supply outfit can help you out. Having said all this it occurred to me that you may be talking about chip sealing a gravel driveway which is a different animal altogether. I was thinking about an actual blacktop surface

Yup, prep the surface good and don't skimp $ on the sealer you buy...get what you pay for...for the most part anyways

This is a paved driveway. It is all base, no topcoat. Done that way for better strength since my truck is usually running 8k or better.

Do you have any sealing companies in your area? The times I've had my driveway done at my old house I was always so surprised how cheap it was. Haven't had the new house's driveway done yet but it's been sealed in the past and usually they charge quite a bit less if it's already been sealed before. One quote I got from the company who did my last one was $75.
