Today's logs soon to be firewood . After bucking most of the way threw used the winch to turn the log . Used the winch to roll the log . Now I won't rock the chain bucking into the ground . Left a few blocks behind ! The canopy is full . The supervisors ready to go home .
Woodwidow said you were heading out in the rain today. It looks drippy. Did you get soaked or was it not to bad? Good looking haul. There is so much wood left there.... do you think you will keep attacking it or do you have to call uncle with having space issues?
Allan, Do you have any special suspension in your Taco? I have the same truck and have 65,000 miles on the original Bilsteins. The dealer just replaced the recalled leaf springs. Since it is not my daily driver, most of my miles are towing or hauling and she sags pretty good with a load of hardwood. Considering a pair of helper springs to level things out.
Have added air bags to the suspension which I run at 65 psi for loads of firewood , also run 60 psi in the tires .
I put "bags" on also, they do not effect the ride when your empty. Iirc they are "ride right" air bags and only took a few hours to install.
Some times our scores are scarce so its hard to say no when good fortune strikes. Ive always found that loading the truck over and over again is more important than finding a place to put it. Ive had more than a few times when I bring home another truck load that my family asks where am I going to put it and I just smile..... theres always somewhere
You hit the nail on the head , right now there is one other place were I could go to get wood but it would mean brushing out several miles of road to get to the wood so this find is letting me get Granny's wood supply several years ahead .
