Correct... and that was my point. People can't buy locally produced stuff for $199 around here, and if you could..... well... not exactly cream of the crop.... Dan
Raw material in this area is much more expensive. We don't have large swaths of cheap, beetle-killed dead wood on Crown land like they do in western Canada. Or, at least, like they used to. It won't last forever.
With all the popularity of the west coast softies and the added shipping costs. Pretty much puts their prices above the average IMHO. At least above what I want to or should I say can afford to pay. Besides we got some decent east coast stuff that my stove is more than happy to burn.
If I lived out there, I would make do with what was available to me. I would not pop for those prices.
We managed with the economical stuff without an issue. Since my son entered collage, We've had little $$ to splurge on anything but a good steak here or there. Can't even spend on a good brew lately. Pellets aint high on the splurge list! Cheap as we can find stuff be doing okie dokie!
No sir, But I do miss some of the tastey micro brews......... I no likey da sludgewiser. Rice beer = headache for me.
At the start of the season, they charged $4.00/bag, bought 5 ton. I am fairly sure the they did not pay more for them at this time of year!
Don't be too sure about that... We have seen price increases on some brands... this time of year... Dan
