We had 5 this morning, I took out some ashes and then started a fire with some Sugar Maple. I just started our second fire about an hour ago with more Sugar Maple.
It's 21 at the moment with some calling for a low of 17 so we'll go with a load of Sugar & Red Maple in the Liberty and wait for colder weather to use the Pellet Stove.
It's been a fine snow so far today so we haven't received much and the plan is not to plow the driveway because of the skating rink underneath. If we get the five inches of snow my plan is to pack it down with the tractor and maybe get the sleds out depending on the forecast for the rest of the week.
That's the same thing I did to the footpaths out to the OWB! Way too slippery underneath about a week and a half ago. Just let a little snow build up on them and all was good. Back to shoveling after one day.
They already dropped our snow totals from 5 to 4 inches. The snow we're getting is a wet snow so it should pack down good.
It's still 32 so made a small fire about an hour ago, that should last long enough to get us to the time we'll make the overnight fire. The low should be in the high single digits.
We had 13 this morning but it dropped to 8 after we had coffee. More Sugar Maple & Yellow Birch in the Liberty.
It's 15 tonight with the temp not going down much so we'll burn some Maple with Oak tonight. Tonight I took a nice walk through the woods back out to the driveway down to the road and back, it's a beautiful night.
Yep , It got a little colder last night went down to 2 14°F-10°C now , light snow , they say low 7 tonight Mix of ash, oak and hickory in the Republic
It was cold last night and this am. The pics a little blurry, but it was cold. Lol I saw it actually go to -9° but I was driving so I had to get the pic when I could.
The temps won't be bad this week so that is nice, soon we'll be getting some moisture from the gulf so it could be rain or if we're cold enough....a chit load of Well Seasoned snow. Oak and Yellow Birch (not maple) in the Liberty tonight.
