Merry Christmas to me! Yesterday (Christmas), I was plowing the snow on the drive, and heard a "bang!" after which the truck stopped. I looked under and found that the yoke for the output shaft of the transmission (I think it is called a slip yoke) had broken.

I am so far not successful in finding one. The truck is a 1972 Dodge W200, 4wd, automatic, 360ci. I don't have a part number. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might find this part? I have tried RockAuto, AutoZone, Napa, O'Reilley's, the local Dodge dealer, and am trying various salvage yards. Any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

A quick search indicates it might have a New Process transmission. Search for dealers / shops in your area and hopefully you will be back in operation.

Take the broken one to a good machine shop they might be able to fix it or build a new one. Tis sad but true that the old and simple pickups from the 70 s are getting tough to get parts for.

You could check with some driveshaft shops. It would be a good idea to count the splines, measure the length, and know what kind of u joint it takes.

Thanks for all the help. It turns out that my truck is a bit of a bass-turd as far as I can tell, and part is likely not the original OEM. But I did find what I needed at Fort Wayne Clutch and Driveline (fortwayneclutch.com), and was able to match the dimensions of my part with the dimensions of the part description.

Your local NAPA? Take the part in with you for them to identify needed numbers.

I don't have anything that new, all my stuff is in the 40's & 50's.

Looks like he found it anyways.
