The dozer I was running last summer broke as I was turning to head out for work in the morning. Foreman was standing along side me. I looked at him and said, dam, that sounded expensive! lol Ted
Good to see you got it out of the woods ,before the snow got deeper anyway . The day wasn't all bad , you got lucky when the rim went inside the tire like that
Yah - that tire is history. Sorry to hear about the bad day Loon. That ain't gonna be a cheap fix, used tire or no.
That really stinks, I know all to well how pricey those larger tires are! Sorry the day went to crap I definitely feel for you bud
Terry, You might give Baker Tire in Forfar a try. The Baker who owns it is a character (worth listening while he changes a tire...could sell a recording for comedic purposes, although he is dead serious, if you could only record it...), but he really knows tires and seems to have just everything. It is just after Baker Feed store, on the North (left) side of Hgwy 42 just after the turn. Does a lot of farm work. He has a nephew who does road calls when he can't.
Thanks gang and it just gets better!!! The farmer up the road brought the used tire which you can kinda see in the first pic and when i went over to give him a hand i realized the saw wasn't in the friggen tractor? So down the road i go to get my bike as the one here with the plow on it would've got hung up in the field and kinda got lucky as everything is froze now so it was a pretty easy ride. Thanks for the info sherwood that guy sounds pretty cool.. Heres the saw that probably woulda been covered by tonight Top middle of pic is my bike on the main path that i shoulda stayed on yesterday
You need a day or two off… awesome you found the saw in time. Now, go home, go to bed, get up Saturday…
Great photos. The woods look a lot like mine.....wish I had no more snow than that though. Went through to my hip in places yesterday. The wind is fierce here. Sorry you have had to be out in it.
To leave the saw behind, you must have hit on the @$%@#Button! Hell of a feeling. It will all work out. I know it is a rotten feeling to brake borrowed things. You end up paying for them, and still not owning them.
Man, I hung up my little ford down in the bottom near the creek a couple weeks ago, worked my watoosie off trying to get it up outta there, but you, my friend, seem to have topped my story for sure.
Its up in the garage now and the new used tire is sitting waiting to be put on Gas. Guy with the proper equipment is coming out today from the village. Now i get to go out and see if i can break the 4 wheeler with plow?
Thanks guys! Just got back from across the road and the used tire is pretty much in the exact same shape as the good tire that is still on the tractor So instead of looking into at least $2400 for 2 new ones it will run $240 all said and done. Gotta love getting rid of one of those zero'$
Well Terry, it appears you luck just changed from bad to good. You got out of that a whole lot easier than I figured you would.
