Got a mix of white oak and ash from the local saw mill’s stump pile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Your truck obviously isn’t going to be a garage queen. Nice load of wood, using a truck as it’s meant to be used.
Thanks all. The stump pile isn't free but it's only $20 for a pickup truck load. Even though it's a short bed, I couldn't make myself hagle that. It's gas. I thought about asking for the diesel but it's a lot more expensive and I've only got a 3 mile commute to work. I do love it. Hopefully today is the first of many trips.
Nice rake on that truck - stack it higher next time to level er out! Just breaking balls. Nice truck, and can't argue with a $20 bill for a good load of premium firewood.
That's a pretty sweet setup, both the truck and the mill pile. Is it any size truck $20? I would put side boards on though, just to really stretch my 20, but that's my frugally cheap side of me, and because I would cry if I had a new truck and a piece of wood went down the side of it.
Nice lining in the bed! That should really help out with durability, but I really like being able to slide wood on my plastic liner.
Mine is Rhino lined and I just have plywood on it so we can load/slide pallets into the bed. It's nice being able to throw stuff into a bed and not worry about dinging anything up.
GM puts a stupid amount of rake on their trucks now Days. The after market is making a killing on leveling kits.
Yeah, I tend to like plastic beds myself but this came stock and I thought maybe I was being too picky. The spray on is working fine so far. CDF_USAF , yeah, $20 for any size. In the past we've filled up my buddy's F250. I don't think the woman charging me knew I had a short bed and I considered asking but she had an oxygen mask on and I just didn't want to be "that guy". It's still a good deal. I was beat and they needed to start driving the loaders where I was so called it a day. Hey, how much did you feel that quake the other day? I see a lot on the news saying the felt it so far away but I didn't notice it.
I'm not in the country at the moment so I didn't get to feel it, my neighbor who was on his roof said he felt it pretty good, but a lot of people I've talked to said they didn't feel anything. The epicenter? was about 9 miles from my house in a wildlife refuge supposedly.
