So a couple weeks ago I went to look at this 2003 Quad Santa Fe...they said it had a bad auger motor. Stove was in ok shape but the firepot ash dump trap was frozen solid and could not get it open. I decided to pass at that time. Fast forward a week later and I went back and bought it. I figured I could get my money back out of it by selling the board.

Stove has a new combustion blower, updated vac switch, "newer" control board.

Without getting a fire going I got all the components of the stove running. The vac tube, where it goes in the auger flyte, was clogged with fines. Auger motor seems to be running fine. I disassembled stove, ran the firepot through the electrolysis process and got the trap door freed up. Unfortunately, the convection blower bearings are noisy and I need to order a new one $$$. Waiting for a Ebay seller to get them back in stock, cheapest I found was $99 with that seller.

Most of the stove is now repainted. I'm going to have to strip the door as the paint started lifting in to spots pretty badly as I was spraying it. Need to add glass gasket to the door yet too.

Another couple hours and I should be able to fire it up tomorrow....hopefully.

I also applied rust restorer to all the rusted areas in the firebox and on the outside of the stove. The only part I didn't spend and time on is the rear panel of the stove. I also added a new combustion blower impeller blade with moly lube applied.

Rust-Oleum brand. They carry it at the Ace close to me. I used it on my Quad two years ago and seem to work ok. I don't have any true before and after pics. I'll have to do that next time.
