Red Oak going up for winter 19/20 IMG_0551.JPG IMG_0552.JPG IMG_0553.JPG When you get tired after a long day of wood stacking, quit. Don't go fast just to get it done or you wake up to find this.

Sent my dad that picture. His quote "what did I teach you"? Yes dad, do it right or do it twice.... words to live by.

Having a pot bellied stove, I don't have "stacks" but rather "piles' I guess. The wood is too small and short to pile so I just push it into my woodshed with my tractor or bulldozer.

Its really dry out here, we've always had "piles" too.

The nice thing about having to do a job twice is you get more experience!

Looks like it stayed stacked for a while.
    When stacked over 4-1/2'
I use something to tie the rows together for stability
    so as
it dries /shrinks/ & moves , it stays upright.

    Nice "3 bay" shed.
Each bay a years supply ?

Yes each bay is a years supply. (Or very close to. We shall see) Tying them together. Now, that's a good idea. You have a picture of how you tie yours?

Dang Dave, that is bang on perfect. Don't think I'll unstack what I've got. But, I'm going to steal that idea for my next bay. Thank you sir.

You could do like brenndatomu said too .
In your case you would need long pieces to go across the stacks front to back to tie the stacks together , I have used saplings 1x and 2x pallet wood
