The problem is what other people call "regularly maintained" isn't what we call it hear on this forum so it's hard to tell what was actually done to the stove over the years of ownership.

Also, assuming that you get the stove all cleaned-up and running properly, and since you're planning on using this for primary heat, I highly suggest getting a decent surge protector for the stove. The electronics on these don't take well to spikes/surges, and a new control box/board is about $200. This is one a lot of us are using, and is only about $25 from Amazon:

Me personally, yes. Especially if your using it for primary heat (a spare igniter is a must in my book). But if it currently works you can get by for now until you get the stove fully up and running.

Welcome to the Show Tammy , you are in Great hands with Steve a real smart Dude who knows this stove very well . I think that you will enjoy the pellet stove , much easier than a wood stove , just keep it clean and it will keep you warm .

Open the ash pan door and spray the bottom of the threads too. Give them screws a shock with a small hammer to help loosen the rust. If they still don't budge, Might need to try some heat?

This is going to get a laugh. I lost my phone down the top so had to take the whole stove apart.

From what I saw, and what you said about the stove sitting for so long, I highly recommend taking the auger motor & auger out.....it probably needs to be wirebrushed, along with up inside the tube, and get all those old pellets out.

Auger motor has to come off first.
