Newly acquired husky

Just got back from picking up a white top 61 Husky. The bar that was on it is a 18in. But from my understanding I could go larger. What do you Husky fellers think?

 

I think an 18" is perfect for that saw.

 

For cutting hardwoods yes stick with that 18 inch bar.

 

18" no problem,myself I'd keep a 20" with full comp chisel chain on there.But it'll pull a 24" skip chain if needed occasionally.

 

Mine has a 20", pulls it just fine.

 

My friend has had the same saw for a long time. His is a very easy starter. He has always had a 20 inch bar on his. Might as well put the one you got with the saw to use since it's on the saw.

I keep a 20" on my 61 and plenty strong to pull it well. I also have a 16" bar for it that makes short work of smaller wood! Cheers!

 

I think you found a pretty cool saw no matter what bar and chain you use. 20"

 

Run that bar & chain & see how you like it.

I have a 20" on mine, Oregon 72 LGX or LPX chain
