I sure am glad I do not run into any of that stuff around here. It sounds nasty.

We've got it knee deep and I make a point to never leave a stump in the woods either it just gets over taken and thickens up the rest of it

I'm wondering if Barcroftb is still itch free? How about his legs? I know after not climbing and then starting again, it can make those legs pretty sore.

All this talk about poison ivy, now, look what happened:hair:
Not sure where I got it exactly, I have been working in the yard the past week
Just one spot on the arm much better than on the weenie:D
I was prepared though already had what I needed in the cupboard, after the pic, I scrubbed it good with Zanfel then put on some Ivarest.
    Feels much better now.

I've been getting into a little bit of it lately, 90% sure emptying the buckets on the lawn mower.
Got an area on the edge of the lawn I spray several times with brush killer every year. Looks like it's gone and then next year it's back.

If anyone is interested I've found two things that work for getting rid of the itchy stuff on your body.

    # 1 not the safest but wipe with acetone. This dries it up usually by the next day. Caution if you go this route it burns like hell!:hair:

    # 2 The safer route!:D I usually scratch it open wipe with hydrogen peroxide, wait until it stops fizzing then wipe with alcohol. I try to do this twice a day. This usually dries it up with in about two days.

Probably too dry there for it to grow. One usually finds it in moist areas and that's why it grows in abundance along creeks and rivers.

Are you sure that is PI Ed? When I got it seems like the spots were really small and grouped in a spot. Nevertheless, it looks itchy! :headbang:

I think that it is, I've gotten it enough times I know. Sometimes it can resemble a lot small mosquito bites it doesn't always seem to get the watery blisters (maybe because I scratch the skin open before it gets a chance to blister). Sometimes it's in cluster of watery blisters. I think that it all depends on how much of the oil that you are exposed to and how thick that your skin is in the area that you get it. That's my experience with it anyways.

I cut a bunch of large wild cherry trees covered in poison ivy. Very large vines. PI doesn't bother me but I forgot to tell my wife I was in it. She caught it from the clothes I was wearing when she put them in the washer. Boy did I get an ear full. Had to start washing my own clothes. She will forgive me this winter when I start loading my burner.
