    It's a lot better when you imagine the "structure" of the old wooden box in place. That wall was built around the box, which appeared to have been modified at some point to make it taller. So 2x the patch jobs. But I would swear he built the whole mess out of cut-offs from the garage construction.

    So......:emb: it's been over a year since my youngest son was born and I started this project. But I can finally say it's done! (Nearly....) (Work, crazy hours, other remodel projecst, life getting in the way, you guys have heard them all!!)

    Here's the tank in place and the supply manifold built. Just have to connect it to the house now.....

    Just getting the system piped (replaced aging incoming service line from the well) and the manifold build took much longer than I anticipated. Of course I'm working on my garage floor, for which my knees have no kind thoughts. And with the most basic hand tools, no fancy stuff from my (former) employer. My kingdom for the pipe vise and a couple 18" pipe wrenches.

    I had one problem with a solder joint, caused by adhesive residue on a fitting where a
    sticker had fallen off. Apparently I did not notice the residue and my fitting brush does not remove the residue 100%. The joint appears to sweat just fine and it held for a few minutes before it popped out a small chunk of solder and started pizzing water everywhere. :doh:

    But nothing gave me more trouble than the threaded joints and the bloody unions. Had to take apart the section connected to the tank tee and re-prep/re-install those two 1 1/4" male adapters. Then had to play with, and eventually replace the unions connecting the sediment filter to the manifold.

    nah. Moved the old pressure tank, filter and switch, and did some "temporary" reconnections so I could build the new system with minimal interruptions in service to the house.

    I know first hand how frustrating plumbing joints can be. That is why I no longer even attempt to do them. Now have a professional plumber come in. He comes, leaves and it is all done. He takes a fat check with him, but my mind is at ease and my blood pressure didn't go up. I'm not able to get up and down or climb so that sort of did it for me. Your system looks good. You should be able to get to it should the need come up.
