Gave the P68 a full cleaning today, in anticipation of the nor-easter coming on Tuesday. Man, they are all over the place with predictions for this storm. We have seen predictions for anywhere between 10" - 24"+. Guess they figure if they cover the whole spectrum of possibilities, they have to be right? We'll know for sure in a couple days...

I worked in a power plant/factory and we were constantly changing out controllers. I put a word in to the electricians that the next time they changed a controller, as long as the temp display worked, I wanted it. Oh, it had to be no bigger the 2" X 2" and accept 120 volt power. A couple of days later they gave me this one. The contacts for the controller were fried, but I don't need them. I whipped up a sheet metal enclosure that just sits on the stove. It uses type J thermocouple wire.

I ran the wire under the sheet metal on top of the stove and inserted is in one of the heat exchanger tubes, making sure the end didn't hit the exchanger tube wall.

I can look to see if there is a part number on the controller if you want.

Just curious how you went about the gizmo business. Thinking ahead on future gizmos on my own and yours caught my eye. Thanks

i'm in the 24" zone :faint:

I really hope work closes. Its such a hassle to come home, leave my car in the street, snow blow after working then pull in.

I was hoping since now that its march, if it snows i can have one of those "it'll melt in a few days" attitudes, but 24" has to be dealt with. uggh.

*sigh* The highest amounts will be right along the seacoast. Unfortunately, I am along the seacoast. Oh well. At least I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. This should but an end to any talk of drought.
