Burning some brush and twigs and branches yesterday afternoon that were blown by the winds on Wednesday.

Whilst burning my neighbor from across the street comes over and asks if'n I'd like the wood from the silver maple in his back yard; as he's having it taken down, after watching it sway wildly on Wednesday. Of course I said, "Absolutely." He said he just wants to know that so he can chew the "tree monkeys" down a bit; as they won't have to haul any of the "firewood" wood away.

This tree is huge................about 65-70 feet tall with at least 10-12 sub-trunks anywheres from 12-18" in diameter. It'll be cut up in "firewood" lengths (supposedly) and all I need to do is wheelbarrow it all across the street.

Don't get much better than that.

Will post pix later; as the tree monkeys won't start until Wednesday next week. Estimating at least 2 full cords of CSSed wood.

It is, but when a homeowner is in fear of it destroying said home...

My neighbor had a large maple taken down due to a public sewer system being put in our village. The contractor gave me all the wood from it. I saved a few pieces to eventually make her something with. Maybe a coupe small picture frames. It was a biggin' too. Made my 394 w/ a 24 look like a 55 rancher!

Keep at it Whitey and you'll make it soon. I also agree that silver or soft maple is much better than box elder.
