I got some shotgun ammo and .22 shorts in a trade a few years ago. This stuff is Peters with Picture Graphics on the shotgun boxes and a mix of Sears and Robuck 410 slug and .22 shorts with a box of Monarch, Peters and Remington .22. I'll take some pics a bit later since it's in the basement in a sealed ammo can. Just wondering if there are any collectors here.
I have some vintage ammo as well. The last box of .22s I bought prior to last month cost $.99 Seriously, I have a bunch of paper 12 ga rounds, but I doubt they're worth much. I'd be interested in finding out.
I don't collect ammo and boxes myself but have a sophisticated buyer that does. Happy to ask him for interest if you like, but I will need some pics.
It may be worth a small something to the right buyer, but old ammo collectors are a dying breed unfortunately. Finding the buyer, shipping it, and all that usually isnt worth the few $ that the ammo is worth. If you do sell and decide to ship it, do your research on shipping ammo. Some states are funny. For example....MA. Even empty, unprimed brass cases MUST go thru an ffl!
Some states are quirky. I've sold a ton of ammo during the past few panics and stuck many ORM stickers on boxes. I had a couple people ask me not to, they were from IL I think. When pressed they said they should have ammo go through an FFL. I refused to ship to them. Fortunately, it's not up to me to know their state laws, it's on the buyer. I might just throw it up in Armslist or post on some of the local gun boards. Asking for a CHL seems to weed out the riff raff.
There are several collectors who work the gun shows around here in NE Ohio. I have sold old Alcan and Herters stuff to them as well as 1909 British cordite .303 ammo, I'd give a gun show a try.
