Has anybody ever burnt this stuff?
Does it make good heat and coal well? Does it make a lot of ash? Thanks for any replies.

Never really heard of it until now, it's a member of the beech family (google says purple beech), so I would venture a guess and say it'll be darn good.

Hope you're not cutting that down. That's a really nice tree and goes well with the brick house. Copper beech isn't very common either.

Having said all that - it should be the same or close to American beech, which is good firewood.

There was a huge rotted area on the opposite side trunk. 75% of the trunk was gone and they did not feel safe with the tree standing.

Try it out. Maybe be fit for shoulder season if nothing else. I know nothing about it other than it will probably burn and probably create some heat. If nothimg else you can always sell ot as campfire wood....

That's too bad. Copper beech is one of the prettiest trees, especially as a specimen or landscape planting.

Yes if it's like American beech, then it's great firewood. Better than oak, and sugar maple.
