Thanks for doing that test. It just might be worth it to extend the time before the Harman shuts down - at least the P61a since some of the heat would make its way to the main floor. I don't lose power often, or for very long, so that is fairly cheap insurance for my needs.

I was out in my t-shirt shoveling and breaking up ice. I didn't bother with the snow blower as there was a lot of softness in the top layer, plus I really need the exercise. Several paths still had windblown dunes in them, so I cleared them out. On one side of the house, the path had been completely filled in by the roof dumping; it must have really been given some momentum by the wind. I cleared out as much as possible in front of the propane tanks, cleared most of the top of the pellet pile and broke up the ice in the driveway - it had accumulated a 6" ice berm and I got rid of a lot of it. Then I tackled the berm from the roof dumping over the ramp. A lot of the berm was up to the top rail (even at the rail's tallest point). CORRECTION: The berm was to the top rail towards the bottom of the ramp and only to the second "brace rail" the rest of the way.

I took down my MacGuyvered snow break at the back porch. Although you can't tell very well from the pictures, and there wasn't much dumpage in these pictures, it It worked very well and I will put it back up again if the need arises. The first pic is when I built the snow breaks. Second is after the roof had dumped a little snow (very little, but enough for proof of concept) - the snow there is from being wind driven with gale force winds. The Third is of the ramp with a small amount of dumpage in sections (that is how the roof usually dumps). If these pics, taken 2/13, before the big storm on Sun-Mon., were of a real roof dump, then you would see anywhere from 6-12" of compacted snow almost the entire width of the ramp.

I finally drove the 6 hrs down to WV and picked up the Harman PF 100 pellet furnace I purchased off of eBay a couple weeks back!! We left the house at 7am this morning and just got home a couple mins ago!! Pretty excited to have it here so I can run through it, clean it, paint it ( ;) ), etc!!

The guy had a small tow motor. So it made loading it a snap! Just need to get 4 or 5 strong guys over so I can unload it!! It's only around 500 lbs. :)
