USPS tracking shows it shipped and says it should get here Friday. Hoping for the best as I need my baby back.
Yea that wood , would have just bounced off that handle and been unhurt. Like he said, problem solved.
You need to fell the tree with your saw, not fell the tree on your saw Joking of course. I swear by stihl, but do have one bit of real advice. If you have a real chainsaw dealership nearby, one that makes repairs etc, stop there. I got the entire piece you need for free once as they had one on the shelf. Used, but still OEM. Getting harder to find a real dealer, but that would be my first stop.
Never bought an aftermarket Husqvarna tank/handle. But I've bought 4 or 5 aftermarket Stihl tank/handles and they all fit great and the oldest is now 4 years old and still works great (three 036 and one 026 maybe two 026?) I can't remember if swags was aftermarket? But as noted above. Used is a good option and that looks like the direction you went.
I went through the same thing with the recoil on my saw. To me, it was also important having the original but if the cost is great enough, then I would have went with aftermarket.
Got the part, but haven't had the time to really look at it yet, but looks fine. Still need to pick up gas line and filter. Day off tomorrow and hoping the saw shop is open to get the parts. Funny, changed out the recoil on my 660 last year due to it having paw/spring issues all the time. Went with a new Stihl and it has not been all that trouble free either. Will post once I get it running and thanks for the input. May your 2017 be accident-free and filled with great wood.
Didn't think to take any. We do it in the morning. Kind of disappointed as 2 of the handle holes are striped on it. Was only able to go snug at best. I'll need to keep an eye on them. Got it done in time to help an arborist working across the street cut up the wood and throw it in the truck. Then went out back to noodle some bigger maple rounds. God I love this saw!
Husky are bad about stripping the handles. If you can tap it bigger. Maybe put some silicone on the screw and then thread it in there
Some pictures of the finished saw. Going to keep an eye on the bolts/screws to see how they hold up. May end up biting the bullet and ordering a new tank like I was planning on doing anyway. At least then I would have a spare.
Was this damage disclosed at sale? Have you mentioned it to seller. Cause you bought a working handle. They may partial or full refund you if it was an honest mistake.
