    Hej hej all people,
Here is just an article i got today, thought i will share it here with english translation.

Granaat in stuk hout ontploft in Duitse houtkachel

In a house in the German Rees, just across the border with the Netherlands, yesterday detonated a grenade from World War II. Which went off in the hearth of the occupant. The dud was in a block of wood, the wife moments before had done in the stove, she told the German newspaper Rheinische Post. "We were completely surprised. There was a very loud bang and there was a thick cloud of black smoke." The explosion broke the glass of the door of the wood stove and collar broken glass in furniture and television. No one was injured. "But I can not bear to think what could have happened," said the resident. heirlooms They suspect that the grenade was in one of the limes of the church in Rees. These were cut last year and could be used by residents as firewood. The woman estimates the damage by the explosion in at about 3,000 euros. "Some heirlooms have been damaged, but the important thing is that nobody was injured." At the end of the Second World War the town was in the Lower Rhine region bombed by the Americans. Thereby regularly shells are found in the vicinity.

    Have a nice day all!

I think only 60% of dropped bombs etc went off, that's scary.

Even now, 70 years later, more than 2,000 tons of unexploded munitions are uncovered on German soil per year.

Oh my God! That has to be scary for those folks. Yes, war is Hell and it continues to be far after the end of the war.

That's a crazy story. Glad and surprised nobody was injured or killed. They must be pretty thankful for that!
