Hello - I just found this site and registered. Central Ma here. Been heating the house with a woodstove since the late 80's. Oil burner used for backup. I go through about 3.5 cords a heating season. About half purchased, the other half scavenged from mine, family, and friends yards. Need to figure out how to get that neat list of "Stuff" I see at the bottom of people's posts. Off to poke around the site more, and learn. Never too old for that! Mike

Good Afternoon, fellow Massachusetts member! Do you mean central like just outside of 128, or geographic central like Palmer, Belchertown, etc? From out here, everything looks like eastern MA!
Welcome to the land of the Woodenheads! Everything you ever wanted to know about life can be found here. Remember, pictures or it didn't happen!
Welcome to the forum Mike. While you are poking around the site, be sure to go to resources and find lots of good things. One in particular is this: Primer on Woodburning by Backwoods Savage You appear to be going through about the same amount of wood as we are or perhaps a bit more. Last winter we didn't even burn 3 cord! Wonder what this year will be like but it surely has started off slowly. To get that list of stuff at the bottom of your page, right click on your name (in one of your posts or at the top of the page, right hand side after clicking on "Forums.") then click on "Information" at the top of the page then scroll down to "Signature" and enter what you wish there and it will show up on every post you make. Hope this helps.
