ordered some roof rx brushable crown repair last week and it arrived over the weekend. I was able to get up on the roof this afternoon and apply it. Not a bad product.
Is it mortar/portland based? Comes in a can? Does it go over everything as is or do you have to do any repairs first?? I'm curious
i used "crown coat" looks like that....its rubber wont shrink or crack, very happy with it,been on about 5 years
This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/ChimneyRx-Brushable-Masonry-Fireplace-Repair/dp/B0060BUQL6 how to vid:
I wanted to use that stuff, but thought the old was too far gone, so remade it with a waterproof mortar product. Secret is use liquid latex, and I had some leftover from something so I did. It has really held up nice . Got the idea watching this crazy dude...
I'm trying to post pics from my Android gadget (first try) I made a summer chimney cover by cutting a plastic bucket, then painted with special paint. First shot shows bucket with paint. 2 is the liner wrapped in plastic. 3 is how it looks installed. 4 is how it looks with cap back on for winter, along with the waterproofing stuff I've been using. Did the summerizing last May, . Just changed it back yesterday.
Yes crown coat is good stuff, still rocking happy as could be on my mothers brick chase after 6 years.
