Got about 1" of snow here and then around 10PM ish last night the wind kicked up. At least its not too cold, around 20*. I remember a few wind storms where it was below 0. The wind storms are fairly normal for this area, though it seems in recent years they haven't been as frequent or as severe.... Or maybe I'm just getting used to it? I dunno.
I have heard a couple of different totals. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/apx/?n=snowgraph_ytd_fullsize We are between Traverse city and Gaylord. I know we have more snow on the ground than TC . I have not been to Gaylord so I'm not sure about that.
Almost got thru winter with no major winds, this is making up for it. Mother Nature is getting her payment for our warm temps. Power blinking on & off. I see some shingles in the back yard, same color as on my roof Whole house rumbles with the strong gusts. 65 mph by the airport weather, but some of the gust seem stronger. Supposed to slow down this afternoon. To go into single digits after the wind stops this weekend. Much better than the wind no matter the temp. I'll put some rock in my pockets & try to get some pictures a little later. It snowed about 3/4 inch last night before the wind started, that snow must be in Hawaii by now LOL
Doesn't seem to be as bad as we often get here, though it certainly is windy. Got woken up early this morning, snowmobile trailer from 2 houses was blowing around.
Blew some of the light weight spruce stack over. Few top splits off the birch stack. Though it seems to be holding it's own so far.
