Just a few i'll share more in the future.

I always thought i was just a firewood prepper, but now I realize that i'm really a firewood hoarder!!
Very happy I found Firewood Hoarders Club.

    Thanks everyone

Looks like mostly Douglas Fir. Good burning wood.

    Welcome to the club!

Bushpilot would be correct. We are predominant Douglas fir area, along with alder, maple and cedar. East of the cascades you'll find ponderosa pine, juniper. Southern part of the state you get into oak, madrone.

I use mostly Douglas Fir because I can get for almost nothing. Oak around here sells for 375-450 a cord even though i'm always on the look out for hard woods on the cheap(yard clean-up, wind falls). After big storms trees come down and you can get it for hauling it away.

Hi Hinerman, I normally start out like this:

Then I always end up renting this from our local rental store. For $60 a day we can get a lot of wood split. IMG_0008.JPG
