I was afraid it might go that way, because the tone of general agreement about... something?.... is hard to miss. You're wrong in your supposition that I know what you mean, but I respect your desire to avoid conflict. Thanks for taking a shot at it anyhow.

There is rural America and there is urban America. The metro areas of the East and West coast (where the big money is) have been charting the direction of the country for a very long time. They make all the rules from within the bubble they occupy and assume that what's right for them is right for everyone. Rural America has had enough of it and they believe that they found a vehicle in the president-elect to take the wheel and change that direction.

Someone is finally listening to us and we hope that it's not just more of the lip service that we've been getting from the political elites for the last 40 years. Time will tell.

First off, I didn't read all of this thread. However, I live in PA and I did not vote for Trump. Before today, I worked under the assumption that my internet presence (social media and forum, etc.) should be apolitical, because that's what I want on social media, forums, etc. I want my social life and my political life to be separate. It's just cleaner that way.

Politically, I'm absolutely open to other's points of view and I welcome any and all opinions. After the recent election results, I have to reconsider my internet presence. In the end, EVERYTHING is political! For those who support the Republican party, CONGRATULATIONS! You now control the Executive and Legislative branches of the government. EVERYTHING, good and bad now ATTACHED TO YOU. The clock is ticking, you better show us some results! Oh, and I'm seriously pizzed off that you surreptitiously circumvented the CONSTITUTION that you so vehemently support, and will likely skew the Judicial branch for generations to come, by denying Merrick Garland, his CONSTITUTIONAL right to appointment to the Supreme Court by the standing president. Please include OBJECTIVE evidence to support denying MG his appointment with any response to this post.

To quote Eric Cartman, "It's on" You will be held responsible for everything.

Thanks, UncleJoe . It will surprise nobody that I disagree with almost everything Trump campaigned on. His rhetoric was openly hostile to people in my family, my friends, neighbors and people I work with -- people I love. But what I find most perplexing is that such a large fraction of voters apparently didn't mind Trump's steady firehose of dishonesty throughout his campaign. Trump voters surely knew they were being lied to, because they're not stupid, but they didn't mind. But it seems self-evident that lying as a modus operandi is mortally corrosive to anyone's ability to collaborate and solve problems. What could be worth that? Honesty and cooperation are not uniquely liberal, urban or coastal values, which is why I'm so especially troubled.

The FHC rules are a little difficult to make out, given that this thread was allowed to stand all day, but I know Scotty would rather not have to deal with this kind of thing. You're welcome to PM me if you feel like it.

I love my life and my country. I see a lot of people in the inner cities with terrible lives. I hope things can change for them. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a change.

Guys, I understand everyone's ELATION, and I understand everyone's FRUSTRATION. One thing that can be said about this election is that it's a historic one, none of us can argue that. Those that didn't want Trump to win are now decrying that they wanna move out of the country, and those that wanted Trump to win are disgusted with the last 8 years.....we all get it. I totally understand all the emotion. TOTALLY. Those of you that know me, know full well where I stand. But as we've said MANY TIMES, we're not going to let it turn into a hate-fest here on our forums. That's not what we're about here. We are all FAMILY here. And we've ALL been effected, and we ALL need to pull together as a nation and move forward.

As for the anger towards one side or the other, PLEASE refrain and either vent it somewhere else, ore turn it into something positive......
