My wife knows I'm not doing horse chit unless I decide to get a horse of my own in the future. That was decided before we got the two horses. I didn't even want horses. LOL But I'm making everything happen so she can have them and have a nice set up for them. I prefer tractors and other equipment with a motor. A nice, reliable motor! I'm to the point I don't even want to do much maintenance anymore. Just the basic stuff. I like to turn the key on and go to work. Then park it, turn the key off, and forgeddaboutit!
I had a pipeline trying to build through my wood lot a few years ago and they wanted to do a survey for old indian relics before they started. When a local university contacted me and told me which weekend they proposed to make the survey I advised them to be sure to wear their blaze orange. They had chosen to use the first of 2 shotgun deer season weekends to do it. When I told them that, they changed their date to a non-hunting weekend. Sometimes I am amazed at what supposedly educated people just don't consider.
A couple of months ago I was cutting up a black wattle tree that had blown down in a storm when this fella came up to take a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is correct wilting cherry leaves have poison in them- prunacin, a type of cyanide. When they dry, the poison is gone. Cattle Grazing: Summer Storms & Wild Cherry Trees | Dairy Herd Management More information if you are interested.
No problem. Everyone that cuts firewood on land that cattle might graze on should be able to identify these trees.
