Summer like weather continues in my area with record high temps today. We've had months of bright sunny and windy days with no rain to speak of. I can hear my stacks drying form 400 yards away!

Maybe fall will come in November? The stove is clean and has a new catalyst and the pipe is squeaky clean, just waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting....

Same here. A couple of small fires, but otherwise nothing but drying and adding to the piles. Love it.:dex:

Yep just sporadic fires here and there to get the chill out of the house. But that is ok I still have wood to split and stack.

We're preparing to head to the beach. Wife is digging out our bathing suits now. :faint: Should be heading to the woods instead. This is downright crazy weather. It was 71 degrees when I got up this morning.

This weather is reminding me a little of last year. Mild, and saving firewood.
Gooder, as it means less work at every step of the process.

The only thing that scares me about warm winters is the possibility of bad ice storms. It has been many years since we've seen one and that alone scares me a bit. I hate ice, except for cooling a good drink.

Anymore, same here. It never seemed to be a huge issue before we moved up here.
I'll be purchasing a couple pairs of those ice cleats soon.

My hunch is this weather is going to change all of a sudden. Personally, I like it cold. Freeze the mosquitoes which are still tormenting me while I am splitting.

Yes Sir my Buck stove is still on summer vacation as well, 82º here today. It is supposed to cool a bit this weekend, which is fine as we will be decorating the old truck for Trunk or Treat on Sat. last year we had about 3000 kids come through.

87 here today Backwoods Savage - It all balances out though-some big deer starting to go down, mast hit well (white/red oak) and we are to get cold by weeks end-Nothing we can do about it-last winter was mild...I'm betting this one bites us sooner than later...bucks are scraping and pumping up-hope we have an intense rut...Enjoy the beach!

We had a 15 year old girl shoot a 625 bull moose last week here, Impressive rack on it. Gun season for deer don't start till Nov.
