I just purchased a old McCulloch Power Mac 6 at a auction to start my collection of old chainsaws. Looks to be in good shape and seems to have compression. So hopefully later this evening or tomorrow I'll have time to check it over and see if it starts.

When it was first introduced in 1968 it was billed as the ''world's lightest chainsaw'' at 6.5 pounds powerhead weight dry only.2 cube/32cc powerhead, will pull 14" b/c in hardwoods,16" in softwoods.

The first generation of ''mini mac's'' it was very well respected & sought after by tree surgeons, arborists & others who needed a small powerful & dependable saw while pruning, topping out & climbing in the canopy.

Basic design stayed the same for a few years with a few added features like chain brake in 1974-75.All magnesium/aluminum construction it was well built & sturdy.Design changes & cheapening of the product led to a more ''homeowner/consumer'' model from late 70's until early 90's.By then the McCulloch Motors Corporation was on its way to Chapter 11 bankruptcy,a sad ending for a large innovative firm that once was respected the world over.

A nice clean find you have there. I will be interested to hear how it runs.
