Ha. "Harvest" is a strong wood. So far I have processed some Southern Hackberry and Water Oak. There are a lot of Oaks in the area as well some Sweet Gum. Sorry for the late response - we have been bracing for Hermine. We got spared being inland however the coastal areas got hammered.

That is too funny. I have some wood that had a moisture level less than 20% so had to test it out. I actually fired up the outside Chiminea last weekend. It was like 94 degrees out - so we stayed inside and looked at the fire through a window. My kids would walk by and say "nice fire dad" but nobody was outside with the fire.

Many retired Canadians winter in Florida to escape the cold. You could winter in Canada to cut and burn wood. not a bad retirement plan at all. Worth considering anyway.

Given the heat we experience in the summer - worth considering indeed! Wouldn't it be ironic - Floridian driving North at the same time all the Canadians are driving South.

    That's an excellent plan indeed.

Wanefree; what kind of temperatures do you get in the wintertime?
