I'm new to the forum but I've been heating with wood for 4 years. I have a Central Boiler OWB, Lilly stove in my shop and a wood wasting fireplace in the house. I also sell cord wood, bundles, chunked wood and whole logs. I run a Stihl MS 290 and a home made splitter with a lift.
Thanks! My friend owns a tree service and he brings me all the wood I cut but I still like to forage. I managed a half a load today after work. My play toy is a Kubota RTV 900.
Do most people here run outdoor or indoor stoves? It's been -20 to -30 at the coldest the last couple winters. I burn wood out of sheer hatred for propane companies. That and my brother in law sold me the stove cheap
Welcome aboard and let me be the first to say that you are very young looking! I also have a Central OWB and a few free standing epa stoves. Like the weather you described, we also get the extended below zero periods every winter....just a little colder than what you have though!
Always good to have another Buckeye ohiowoodcutter. We have a mix of OWB, inside burners and also pellet burners. There is a section just mainly for OWB and boilers if you haven't seen that. We like'em all. Where abouts in Ohio are you looks pretty flat in your pics.
Welcome to the forum ohiowoodcutter. Nice pictures. I've often thought an elevator could really come in handy for handling firewood, especially for those who sell it. As for the OWB or free standing, I'd say there are more free standing stoves but still several members have OWB. We have many OWB around this area. Many tried to talk us into buying one but we love our soapstone stove and it takes a lot less wood which is critical for us as both my wife and I are, well, both retired and tired.
I think what you mean is yesterday you were tired and today you are retired.....same here just about every day
Welcome ohiowoodcutter to this forum where we all take turns being the teacher and student. Some do more teaching than others, but that is due to their level of experience.
I live in north central Ohio about an hour due north of Columbus. That's my son posing our haul of logs for the day last winter.
Welcome ohiowoodcutter, you're gonna like it here, I guarantee it and most are certified addiction counselors to help you along...we also like dogs and beer...Nice to meet ya
Well, it's official now ohiowoodcutter- you're here, and like us, you're crazy....about wood heat. Glad you've jumped in, pics first
Sounds like the Galion area? I was gonna ask who the lil dude is...looks like good help...and only gonna get better with age! O-H...I-O!
